What happens if someone doesn't fast before the blood test?

Just curious, what happens if someone doesn’t fast before a blood test? They don’t get the results they want and do it again? How do they know though what the results would be? Can they see that the person hasn’t fasted?

just like how you weigh urself in the am..everything is digested and stuff like that thats why your weight in the am and pm could be 5 pounds apart… its more of a natural reading I guess.. like the other guy said about glucose levels, thats probably a good reason why

Ah ok!!! Now I know never to do that. I was just curious because my mom went for a blood test, the doctor didn’t tell her to fast and she wasn’t sure if she had too or not but they told her there to go back another day when she has fasted.

It’s like cheating at solitaire…there’s no real reason to not devulge the information, because it’s only you who will be affected. Like ty said…you might be diagnosed with something you don’t have…or even worse…get a “you’re fine” answer when you DO have something.

Still…it’s only YOU who face the consequences.

Answer #4

So say they’re doing a glucose test. If you eat, you get false results which could say you’ve got diabetes. Which means they could diagnose you with a disease you dont have. Why on earth do you want to lie to your doctor about something this important?
