What does A.I stand for in sports games?

Artificial intelligence…one of the main advancements the past few years (in my opinion) is the development of fuzzy state machines (FSM’s) that are better than traditional state machines, thus allowing for more realistic actions taken by bad guy / computer generated players.

A typical expert system only allows for so many actions, and it’s a predicatable ruleset…with a fuzzy state machine driven bad guy, you have more possibilities.

:) Game development in the US is the only area (to my knowledge) actively leveraging fuzzy logic to develop cutting edge AI software.
