What do you think of my Butterfly tattoo idea?

Ok so I want to get a tatto of a butterfly soon. (just a simple butterfly) Like I dont want to regret it though. The reason for a butterfly is, I always am like excited. anxsious, and have the butterflies. Also theres a certain type of butterfly called monarc. & they move (travel) a lot like from south to north then back to south. I as well travel a lot. Except north to south then back to north.. ANYWAY is this a good idea. or should I get somethin more interesting?

I thought pretty hard about the two I have. In fact I just got my second one done about two days ago.. a few things to keep in mind when getting one is. never get an impulse tattoo. It’s a dumb dumb idea. You may regret it. I would do what I did. Wait about 4 years. If you still want that tatoo then I would go for it. Also think hard about where your going to put it. Think about the future when getting it.. think about gaining weight and having kids a simple butterfly if put in the wrong spot could look like a giant monster if you have kids or gain weight in the future. Now not everyones body changes a lot after having kids.. but a good amount do. Also keep in mind having a job in the future. Some employeers may look down on someone with a noticeable tatoo. I got my memorial to my grandfather which is a boston red sox B on my back sholder blade. it’s one of the last places to age on your body and if I have kids I dont think it will effect my upper back to much. I also have a paw print on my hip bone which also has a lot of meaning behind it But I took the chance of puttng it in a bad spot but I figure not a lot of people will ever see it but me and my fiance. If you really feel like you want this tattoo then by all means go for it. I love love love mine! But look into some tattoo places first. I have a lot of friends with crappy tattoos just because they went to anybody. Also taking care of it properly while it heals and getting the color touched up every few years will help keep the color :) I wish ya the best of luck with your decition, just careful.. there addicting ;)

Answer #5

It sounds perfect to me, if it symbolizes you, then I say go for it. But remember, it’s going to be painful if you ever decide to get it removed.

Good Luck :)

The fact that you have to ask means that it may not be a good idea to get it. You should not need anyone else’s approval over a tattoo. I have several tattoos and I couldn’t care less if anyone else approved or liked them. I got the tattoos for ME and only ME. If you are sure about a tattoo, you don’t need to ask if it is a good idea or not.

Just do it. It’s a personal thing, so I think you are the one who needs to “accept” it. One piece of advice; don’t make it too small! because if you do it can get ugly as time goes.

Maybe the size of a 1 dollar bill. Then you can get it much more colourful and with more details. I mean, if you’re having a tattoo made, it’ll be there forever. So don’t save money by making it small and boring. When you have your first tattoo made, chances are that you’ll be back to have some more later. So go for quality. You will not regret it.
