What do you think of militias?

In the us constition it says the people have the right to form militias and for the states to do this as well. whats your opinion?

Answer #1

For self-protection sure - the right to keep and bear arms !

Answer #2

I dont think it should be THAT easy to organize granted we do have the right to bear arms but gun control is a problem in the U.S and as long as you are a generally safe gun owner than you shouldnt have any reason to be defensive

but form militias? what other reason would this be for than to cause chaos?

im a bit confused

Answer #3

“A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

The constitution does not say the people have the right to form militias. It says the state does, not individuals. And until this most recent ruling by SCOTUS over the DC hangun ban, they had never ruled that the second ammendment related to indvidual gun ownership that was not related to a state militia. The ultra-conservative majority on the bench reversed prior rulings without any new evidence. Something that is clearly not suposed to happen.
