What am I more depressed after medication?

I was diagnosed with depression a few weeks ago & put on anti-depressants. It seemed to be getting better. I stopped thinking of suicide & it felt like I was enjoying life then I started going back to karate and the stress started building up more than ever…& everything went straight down hill…I keep thinking of suicide more than ever & I’m more depressed than ever and I dont really get why…

I agree. most times when you stop taking your pills, the “after-shock” is suicidal thoughts. just like babylove said.. speak to your psychiatrist and perhaps try other anti-depressants. all medication works different with every unique individual.

Hmm, well it apparently happens sometimes as a side effect of the antidepressants (yeah, ironic I know), I suggest you talk to your psychiatrist/doctor asap…

are you still taking the pills? When you stop taking them the major side effect is suicidal thoughts. If you are still taking them then you should talk to your parents about this immediately, maybe its not the medication for you. There are hundreds of antidepressants out there, sometimes its just trial and error to see what works best with your lifestyle. I say this because I have a few relatives with depression.
