Why does my Mom get so mad when I do charity?

I’m 15 and I come from a normal family with a normal income. my mum is the head of the family. my dad is like a lil puppet in the house. he only know to talk and do nothing. my mum really hurts me…I might be at the wrong but… my mum is really stingy when it comes to money…I understand that she work really hard for it but I want to have fun at times… yes… she might be doing it for the family but at times I see things differently… when I do charity…she will get really mad at me… I don’t understand…am I at the wrong?

here’s my question, are you giving money (I.e. her money) or your time. Because your time is your time. But it’s her money. So if you want to volunteer your time, go for it, but I think if you want to give money to charity, you need to earn it.

ok our family is the exact same what you have to do is sit her down and talk about it say you will do chores wash the dog clean the bathroom and work out things you can do like that best thing to do is first make a list of things you can do and put down a dollar amount on what you think you should get paid for doing that chore then talk to her!!♥♥♥ let me no how it goes!:)

All I can tell you, is this. Your mom is under a lot of financial pressure. In a home where only one person is carrying the financial load, money has to be very tight. That kind of pressure changes people…so these days, she may see charitable giving (even of time) as a waste…you know, like she may see it as something you could get paid for.

Don’t give up volunteering…it pays off for you…You can even use it on a resume, and it looks GOOD on a resume.
