Tell him that he needs to be able to seperate the truth…from the fiction.

If he will truly seek God, he will begin to see things in a new light, and his understanding will begin to open.

to me religion is bad I fight with my friends argue with teachers debate with parentz over religion and we always end up shouting and war is cozed by religion

Some wars have been started over religion, but not all.

Wow that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard from silverwings yet. You think were the evil ones? You don’t even acknowledge the evils of you god and your religions. You keep saying “see the truth” well look in the mirror. Your the hypocrite. Your the heretic. You think yours is a message of love? What about the judgment and the humility? You don’t even understand what your arguing. You think this is the spirit of the anitchrist? These are the voice of reason. Most of us know the word of your god and see it for what it is.

Just an observation…

I notice that most of the posts offering advice (by non-believers and beleivers) on how to deal with the neighbor, tell icarumba0 to just not talk about religion with the neighbor. I find it odd that silverwings, one of the most zealous fanatics on this site, is the only one who tells him he should try and convert the neighbor.

And then there are others on this site who recently have been on a crusade to stop the non-believers of forcing their opinions down believers throats. It seems it is the religious fanatics who do that, not the atheists.

yes, I have many christian friends as well- we all know where the line is drawn- and we do not cross it, I do not force my beliefs on others ( I give my OPINION when asked for it) and I ask the same of others . most of my friends understand this- and religion simply is a non issue. as far as the war thing goes- religion and maybe simply differences of belief can account for the majority of wars- not much we can do about it- we are all human, and that is how humans work. most of us desire to be the best people we can be- no matter what “label” is placed on us by ourselves or others.but sometimes a fight is inevitable- and we must allign on the side of our belief- and hold nothing back when all else has failed. so I guess I would agree to disagree with your neighbor- and let it go.

I’m a christian and I have christian and non christian friends, (and some muslim friends) and we all agree to disagree. With some it’s fine to have friendly debates or just talk about religion and with others they couldn’t care less about it. I’m fine with both. But if we actually started fighting about it I would just avoid the topic altogether. It makes more sense than ruining a friendship over religion

Its the fanatics and fundelmentelest of said religions that makes the wars. Religion itself isn’t bad. As far as the God thing I don’t believe in God or the bible. However I know a few christians that leave me alone about my religion and don’t shove it down my neck. Religious wars seem to be brought on by a misunderstanding of beliefs or a deliberate misuse of said beliefs to gain power. Even if I disagree with a religion it doesn’t mean either of us are wrong. I would advise, like others, to avoid the topic with him.

I don’t think it’s the worst thing that’s happened, but it has been the cause of many wars, deaths, killlings etc.

If he is really bothering you - don’t talk to him about religion. It’s obvious that you both have strong beliefs on different sides and there is no way that you can or can not prove that God is a lie. Religion is unprovable and the argument is not going to go anywhere.

not all religion is bad, really in my honest opinion, it’s just the biblical religions that are the worst .The so called moral values of the bible cause people to poisen the earth, waters, the air, sexism against women, mindless genocide, destroy ancient cultures, remove all desire for individuality, yet all that is made to seem okay in the biblical world.

From experience I believe it’s Pantheism & religions that’ve stemed from it that obtain the most moral & better for society
