What do I do to help the guy I like get over dead ex?

Ok, so theres this guy josh, and he and I both liked eachother a lot, wich was bad cus he had a girlfriend who he loved, and we both respected that and stayed friends. Then literally 2 days after he comes up to me and tells me he loves me and he has no idea what hes gunna do, his girlfriend dies. She got hit by a bus, like no joke. I felt horrible,but hes worse, he feels its god punishing him for loveing 2 people. We both actually have extrememly strong feelings for eachother, to be honest I think it is love. And I don’t know how to help him with his ex, like I don wanna push myself on him, and hes like, well my hearts all urs now, but, he still has dreams about her and all that of course, what can I do to ease him into back to normal a little? Anything I can do or say besides the obvious? All I want is him to feel hes allowed to fall for another, cus hes very cautios,and I don’t know how long itll take for him to b back to the josh he was before. Any help?
