What do I do if my video game freezes?

I’ve been playing a Playstation 1 game on my brand new PS2. It’s a 4-disc game, and I’ve gotten to the 3rd disc with no problems. Now, in the middle of a scene, in the exact same spot, the music cuts off and the game freezes. the characters still blink and kind of move, but I can’t pause or do anything and the story doesn’t continue. I can’t find any scratches on the disc, I’ve tried restarting several times, and I’m still getting the same problem.

In case there’s a scratch I missed, how can I clean the disc without harming it (blowing on it and rubbing it with a soft cloth didn’t work)?

And, are there any other solutions??

alcoholic solution was what me and my sis used on those discs :) they still work for me now lol.
