What Can My Story Be About?

You could say you were a single mum with one child; who was turning five but you had no family for various reasons. Your child has never had a good birthday, you want to give it an amazing future but youre fighting a losing battle with nobody for support, its like you’re running on a treadmill and can’t stop. You have no job, you got pregnant at fifteen and had to leave school and have no qualifications. This means you have no money and can’t buy an amazing present. Since your child has started school they’ve began to realise their friends have better lives than them and has began asking you questions. You often cry as you feel youre falling through a tunnel with no bottom.

Or you could say you were ten year old Haitian with no parents. You live in a foster home where they try their best to make birthdays fun with cake and balloons and singing and dancing. But it just doesn’t do it for you anymore. You appreciate the thoughtfullness but you’d kill for a proper family to celebrate your birthday with. Explain the party and what went on and make comparisons to if your mum and dad were alive. State how they died; a car crash would be a safe bet?
