What can I do with my parents?

Ok so heres the deal. My mum is this up tight, wound like a spring chick, who wont let me see my friends and thinks its ok to rule my life. My dad on the other hand is laid back and pretty cool. He lets me drink (not so I get drunk bu enough for me to feel a little high) and is totaly ok with me dating and having fun being a teen.

They have been divorce for almost 13 years now and they still fight. My dad is currently uneployed and homeless, living with his parents and mum has a home and a job and all that.

Now I want to know how to loosen my mum up and be more like my dad, I mean I would go and live with my dad but I dont think he would be able to support me. I also love my mum too much to hurt her like that. What should I do??!!!

OMG.I went through the same stuff. My dad went from job to job and house to house since I was little. Being an only child I thought he was so free and easy. But now that I’m a bit older (17)I now know that if I had gone to live with him I may have ended up the same way. My Mum always provided me with a stable home, even if she was strict and I had boundaries. I think now that I would not be doing so well at school if it wasn’t for my mum. Hang in there with your mum, I know sometimes it can be tough but you will end up a better person who understands responsibility. My parents still fight sometimes but it does get better. Hang in there friend.
