what are you on Johnathon? sorry but if your parents threatened to hit you and destroy your things over something little then you didnt have a normal upbringing because parents should nurture their children not frighten them half to death…

look sweetheart if it’s that bad at home you probly are being affected which can cause other problems (such as depression) and have a negative impact on you later in life. if there is an adult you trust, or a teacher even, you can talk to them and ask them not to tell anyone. make sure that you’re making an affort to help out but balance everything at the same time so mum can see you’re helping, but that you have lots of work to take care of too. you really need to earn her respect, but if it gets really bad look into calling child hotlines who deal with stuff like this maybe make a list of all the good things in your life and all the things you want to achieve (even if it means geting away from home eventually and being happier) and look at it whenever you feel down, and maybe it will pick you up and remind you of what you are fighting to achieve also sometimes being able to blurt everything out to a good friend can relieve some pressure I find :) hope I could help hun
