What can I do about my annoying roommate

My college roommate is starting to bug the crap out of me. Its been a month since he’s moved in and now, the little things he does are starting to bug the crap out of me. Although he does go to bed around 10-10:30 pm, that doesn’t bother me as much. Sometimes he’ll stand right next to me as I’m typing something on the computer. Sometimes, he just does not know when to shut up. He’ll talk my ear off, even when I have headphones on. He’ll tell me every time he leaves the room what he’s doing, whether its going to the library or getting something to eat. I walked out of the room to get some ice for a drink, and as soon as I walk in, he says, “Oh, hey man, where’d ya go?” I don’t hate him, but his antics are getting old. He’s too nice of a guy that I could tell him to leave me alone, because he is in my fraternity.

So what can I do?

You can practice patience.

Face it - you’re stuck with this guy, so if you can’t change him (and I can guarantee you cannot), then you’ll have to change your own perspective.

Think about it - it could be a lot worse.

Hmm try telling him nicely you cant stand to have people next to you while you’re on your computer (it’s just a “thing” ) or try paying attention to him for a little bit, just focus on him for 5 minutes and then let him know you have some work to get done and you’ll talk to him later… It seems like he’s lonely or maybe a little insecure (people dont behave in bizzare ways for no reason… think about what’s really causing his behavior)

Your roomamtes a lot better than mine. Mine throws an attitude anytime I have friends over.
