You definatly can get it from sex. The only other way that you can get HIV, is if the person’s body fluids get into a cut, scrape, your mouth, or your eye. The fluid has to enter your body somehow.

The HIV virus is passed on through bodily liquids. Sperm, womens vaginal fluid, blood although it’s highly unlikely to catch it throw kissing but still make sure your safe. This is one of the reasons why you should always use condoms because you cant tell by looking at um1 if they’ve got it!
