What are what chances of getting pregnant with depo provera?

So I’ve been on the depo shot for…nearly 12 months. [starting on the 1st] My friend has also been on the shot for a bit longer, and she is now pregnant. She gets her shots regular. Right on the dot actually. And I am always a few days late on getting mine. How much of a chance is there for me to get pregnant?? How many women have gotten pregnant on the shot? How can someone get pregnant on the shot is if helps protect you from getting pregnant? :|

The depo is just as effective as the pill I.e. 99%. In fact most women on the depo struggle to fall pregnant after it.

There is no birth control method that is 100% effective, however some protection is better than none. You friend was really unlucky.

I know that depo provera doesnt work as good as taking pills but only a small amount (less effective). um if your worried then use both condoms and the depo. you should be using condoms all the time anyways. just remember nothing is 100% unless you dont have sex. and remember the main point to having sex is tooo… reproduce!!! not to have fun (thats the second point, also if it didnt feel good then no one would have kids/sex). keep that in mind and understand and be ready that you could get pregnant after having sex.

I dk cause I have never been on it but just to be safe I would say take the shot and use a condom bc there is always a chance of you getting pregnant no matter what unless you dont have sex at all ( which would suck) so use both :] hope this helps
