How to make sure Chihuahua puppies survive?

what are the best ways to ensure survival of chihuahua puppies?

Answer #1

The site where I got the examples is: http://www.ehow.com/tips_9993_2.html

1:Promised Land organic whole milk (in the dairy section) mixed with Eucanuba puppy chow moistened with water plus 2 TBS. of baby food strained turkey or chicken–all of our dogs love it, and all seem very healthy and none have had seizures.

2:Parvo - I know how tempting it is to show off your new puppy, but trust me, it is better to keep your puppies inside the house until they have been vaccinated. I had just gotten a blue Chihuahua for my birthday and decided to take him out into my backyard thinking it would be safe. I came to find out that some neighborhood cat left parvo in our back yard, which killed my tiny pup.

Parvo virus is awful, it kills them slowly, taking ever nutrient and energy in their tiny bodies. Also, don’t let people hold your pup without washing their hands. You never know if they may be carrying a virus or infection. I know I must sound ridiculous, but trust me, it happened to my Chihuahua.

partB: Parvo information - Parvo is the #1 killer in puppies. I have pulled puppies through it. People call me the Parvo Queen and you can be too, here’s how. Every 20 minutes give them Pedialyte and Low Sodium Chicken broth mixed. I use an eye dropper for this. They will throw this up, but keep doing this and they will finally get better. I do not promise that the puppy will not die, but I have not lost one yet and I have done this procedure for many members of the family and friends.

3:Clean the eyes - Both my own and my friend’s Chihuahua often develop extra secretions around the tear ducts and eyes. It’s very annoying to them, but easy to get rid of. Just wipe their face gently with a cloth. Until I wipe her eyes, my Chihuahua actually starts burrowing her face into my clothes when I wake up in the mornings.

4:ow Friend on 11/22/2005 Don’t believe the veterinarian - We took our puppy to the veterinarian for the first time when she was 8 weeks old. The veterinarian said that she did have worms, but they could not do anything until she weighed 2 pounds (she only weighed 12 ounces). Three days later, she became hypoglycemic, and 3 days after that I pulled a worm out of her. We went back to the veterinarian, and they said the same thing again. We saw another veterinarian, got her dewormed, and our puppy is doing 100% better.
