Add the police or a car chase or they could fall out or have an affair with someone else. And if worst comes to the worst you could always make one a vampire, you’d sell a million copies :)>

Funny, my name is Devin… Anyways, you could have a nice sub-plot involving the misrepresentation and senseless social labeling associated with the Emo(tional) movement. Detail how not every ‘’emo’’ wants to cut themselves. Or maybe describe the musical inspiration that motivates the whole style/mind-frame/persona. Your readers will connect with the characters better, and feel more familiar with them.
