What are some good ways to promote a book?

Okay,I’ve recently finished my first book.Are there any sites,people,or any way I can publish it? I would like to have it come out on book,but the range is like for a third grader. Any suggestions/recourses,reccomandations?

OK, I’ve written books on my computer my laptop (which I’m typing to you right now on) and basically, print it out, stable it, then, find a publisher online (publishers like puffin and headline are best) and attatch a note saying thx and then if they send it back, don’t be upset, either make it better or change it completely. if they say yes! congrats! you’re now an author! but before you go on to write bestsellers you need an illustrator…you see Nick Sharratt (JW books) go on his site and contact him and ask him, it’s all easy from there. good luck.

You can self publish at lots of sites online. I’ve seen lulu used,but there are others as well.

If you think it’s good enough to get picked up by a mainstream publisher, just send copies to them, with a cover letter thanking them in advance for their consideration. Expect rejection. Trying to get published is a lot like an average guy trying to pick up a smokin’ hot girl in a bar.

type it, print it out, make copies at Kinko’s, staple the pages together, buy a bull horn, and then stand out in front of a library and yell to people to come check it out. I’d do it.
