What are some good hair/makeup tips for japanese/lolita styles?

Ok, my hair is 6 inches past my shoulders. Its dark/light brown, with some blonde left from when I bleached it blonde, now its kinda grey, because the brown dye didnt get it all, because my hairs so thick. And I have bangs, but when im lazy, and dont feel like brushing em all nice, I sweep em to the side, but I dont do anything to it, I dont have the patience to straighten it, curl it or anything, for the most part, its straight, but the backs kinda wavy, fronts a little wavy.

I usually dont wear any other makeup but thick black eyeliner.

I love lolita styles and japanese, what are some things I can do to my hair and make up to show lolita and japanese?

I’ve tried googling it. And didnt get much, need help!

Thank you ♥

Keep in mind LOLITA IS NOT A COSTUME. It is a fashion.

First of all, ditch the thick black eyeliner. Lolita focuses on being classy and modest but still _(punk, cute, goth, ect.) Even the darkest of goth lolitas don’t where a lot of makeup unless it is a costume.

Depending on the style of lolita, you may need to put more or less makeup (or even close to nothing.)

As for your hair, the color doesn’t matter. Slightly blown out pigtails are acceptable for most of the styles of lolita. A single ponytail is frowned upon. If you want to leave it down, try adding some hairclips, accesories, ect. This also depends on the style you chose.

So basicly:

Want sweet/cute? Think little girl. Or cake, yum. Soft, minimal makeup and girly hair. Lots of little details that all work tward makeing you look like a dessert. C:

Goth? Think victorian. Dark and defined but still minimal makeup. Modest, rich colours (black, navy, dark red, ect.)

Remember: ELEGANCE, CLASS, AND MODESTY

Hope this helps!!
