What are some good, free websites that can help you find auditions?
I’m trying to start an acting career and I sighned up for exploretalent, but I have to pay them in order to submit myself for the job so everytime I get a possible offer I just copy and paste the info ongoogle and ifnd the original website for it which is free and easy, I also check craigslist a lot and thats helpfull, but I’m not getting to much are there any really good websites out there for helping find auditions that are FREE?
Explore Talent is a proven SCAM! They STEAL castings from FREE sites like Mandy and Craigslist and charge money. They also steal from LEGIT sites like ActorsAccess.com (This is the best for markets outside of L.A., NOT Explore Talent!). Or for FREE find the SAME castings that Explore Talent has on Craigslist and Mandy.
Respected Casting Director, Industry Expert, and Author, Bonnie Gillespie (http://more.showfax.com/columns/avoice/) has said how her castings have mysteriously ended up on Explore Talent with the dates and some info changed around. GO AND EMAIL HER IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE ME!
Explore Talent has been around for 5 years. In EVERY Acting Reference/Business Book written no earlier than 5 years and even in the books written or edited in 2008/2009, there is NO mention of Explore Talent!
Stay away from exploretalent and use craigslist and www.mandy.com/casting/ Its were exploretalent grabs all there auditions off of anyways and then try to sell them to their members.
Talent Hunter, ExploreTalent, etc. are all SCAMS! To find auditions, I guess the best thing would be to check in the back of any newspaper such as the Daily News, or New York Post.
