Lol at captain obviouses. Most of your food should be whole grain foods, followed by vegetables, fruits, a little almonds or sunflower seeds for vitamin E, plus a little walnuts, walnut oil and / or olive oil for omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. 50:50 walnut oil : olive oil makes awesome hash browns. If you’re not vegan then add some eggs and maybe dairy. If you are vegan then add a soy lecithin supplement to replace the eggs. That leaves 1/2 tsp. iodized salt daily for iodine and sodium. Add 1/4 tsp. kelp if your salt isn’t iodized (kelp is a good seasoning). Take a B12 supplement to avoid anemia and nerve damage a couple years or so down the road.

Most of this is for long term health. Cutting out meat alone will probably improve your health in the short run since most people eat too much.
