Born out of wedlock your more likely to be a teen mother?

Is it true that if you were born out of wedlock your more likely to become a teen mother?someone told me that

Answer #1

hum I don’t think so, I think as long as you were raised right and you know what protection is when it comes to having sex then you will not be a teenage mother, if you don’t know the conqueces of having sex then talk to someone about it before you do have sex So I would say what you heard is untrue.

Answer #2

No way! My mom had me and my sister (twins) and she wasn’t married and look at us, 19 and not mom’s!

Answer #3

no. thts not true. its who you are and what you believe, and what your influences are. people shouldnt judge you because of your parents.

Answer #4

No. thats not possible.. heres is the thing people try to come up for excuses for their own mistakes… teenagers (me including) make a lot of mistakes and we always try to blame our parents! the thing is that we should learn how to just know that we are wrong and that is our mistake. cant be blaming our mistakes just because our mom or whatever made a mistake along time ago. so no I dont think that is true

Answer #5

more likely is an interesting term… they may have found a positive correlation (I.e. a relationship) between being born out of wedlock and being a teen mother, and I repeat, may (because I cant find any studies on this), so it may mean that more teen mothers have mothers who were unmarried, so technically yes, you may be “more likely” to be a teen mother statistically, but life is really about more than a statistic…

ok, here is something I found about teen mothers (who are really not likely to be wed)

The children of teenage mothers are also more likely to become teenage parents themselves (14). http://www.womhealth.org.au/studentfactsheets/teenagepregnancy.htm

Answer #6

no it don’t believe that, not for a second.

Answer #7

I highly doubt it - it’s way way you’re raised - solid family values / morals.
