Wedding reception ideas for any season, list of fun ones

My husband and I got married a while ago, but now it seems like a lot of our friends have “caught the bug” and are planning on getting married at various times over the next year. Can somebody help me start a list of some creative wedding reception ideas for any season that are fun, traditional, or easy? Any criteria, really (except those that are lame he he he). Thanks!

We’re getting married in Feb 08 and we’ve gone for a sweets theme? we both have a sweet tooth and figured it would make brill wedding favours as well.

It really depends on when and where you plan to have the reception, here are some generic ideas,

Have the reception outside at a nice location like a winery and have a dj and dance floor in a gazebo.

You could choose a theme for the receptioin based on colors or ideas … I heard of one couple who had everyone dress up as romantic characters.

If there are certain activities you and your significant other like doing, try incorporating that into the reception.

It would be fun to book a day cruise and have the wedding and reception on the cruise ship.
