Technically, Washington State and Washington D.C. are two different places. When someone just says "Washington," the only way you can tell which one they mean is by context, so it's not always clear.
I usually say "Washington State" for the state, and "D.C." for the city, to avoid ambiguity.
Two different places. There's the state Of Washington on the West Coast of the United States, and of course DC which serves as the Capitol.
yes Washington, D.C. is my Maryland and Virigina (in the southeast) well Washingtiom is in the SouthWest on the United States :)
