How do I wash/dry permed hair?

I got my hair permed Monday and I can wash it tomorrow, but it just occured to me I don’t know how. Do I do it just like straight hair? I know I need a wide tooth comb, but what about the actual washing and drying?

Answer #1

Wash and dry as your normally do…it’s better to let your hair air dry, if you can.

Answer #2

Make sure your shampoo is made for straight/curly hair (which ever you have) and make sure the conditioner is a really good hair moisturizer. Because when you get a perm, it like.. strips the natural oils out of your hair. And those are meant to be there, so a really good moisturizing conditioner will replace those oils. You can just wash it in the shower. And yeah, use a wide tooth comb, but don’t brush it TOO much because then your hair will lose the style.

Answer #3

That shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t usually blow dry it. Thanks:)

Answer #4

And yeah, air dry. Heat can damage it,

Answer #5

If my shampoo doesn’t say it’s okay for curly hair but it doesn’t say Its bad for it either can I use it?

Answer #6

wash your hair like normal then when drying you want to flip your head over so all your hair is towards the grownd then you want to whats called scrunch it turn on blowdryer and take your hand and scrunch your hair up to your scalp (if you are realy styling it use moose or a flexible gell)when your hair is dry you will probably look like a poodle but take a pick or wide tooothed comb and put the hair where you would like .

Answer #7

Yeah, probably.
