Someone at work got us all totally concerned. We bought extra food! And then when the first sight of Austral Asia came in, and they were OK, we heaved a sigh of relief!
I think it was because all computer chips were only set to work until December 31, 1999. Everything was connected to computers. For some reason, it was thought the Y2K virus was going to infect all of the computers because of this. This event, if it had happened, was thought to have the ability to wreck the entire world.
