What happens if a wart is left untreated?

i have two small warts on my toe and when i showed my dermatoligist he gave me a mix to apply every night to them, its basicly vaseline and a type of acid. But now thick layers of my skin is peeling away andthere are raw spots, it hurts to walk on it, he says its normal but it really hurts. My question is, is this normal? and what would happen if i leave it untreated? they arent planters warts so would they be harmful to me?

If left untreated, warts can spread to other areas of the body. They’re not harmful, but I’m sure you don’t want more of them. What you’re experiencing is normal. The acid basically eats the wart away and it has to get right down to the root to be effective. You can actually get wart bandages in the pharmacy. It’s just a band-aid with the wart treatment already on it and it works quickly and fairly painlessly - I’ve used it on my daughter.

If you happen to ever get more, or this one comes back, I know of a great home remedy that really works. Clear fingernail polish (top coat). Apply once a day, everyday until the wart had disappeared. Both me and my mom have used this to get rid of our warts. When I was 5, I had a cluster of warts on my toe, we did this treatment, and within a few weeks it was gone. I am 17 now, and it has never came back. :)

i have a wart and its half sticking out it’s fairly small but today i was walking in my room and it sort of came out more. it bled quite a bit i put some savlon and a band aid. PS ive been putting an acid called daufon or something since i first saw the wart. its all brown now and i thnk its coming off. so just keep putting the acid your doctor gave you
