Would it be a violation of students' privacy to post about them anonymously in a newsletter?

I was thinking of making a completely anonymous bullying newsletter where students from my school would send their experiences to an email my club makes. All the names would be changed, bad words blocked out etc. I just want kids at my school to realize how their actions and words affect others. Would it be okay?

It sounds like a good idea as long as it will be completely anonymous and monitered closely. Names aren’t the only way to identify a person. Just be sure that anything that get’s posted has no specifics about a person that may harm their name in any way….especially if the story being told is false.

Answer #2

Change their names. That’s what I see in magazines all the time. So if the person’s name is sarah, you come up with something that is the complete opposite so it’s not so similar to the someone-youre-talking-about name. You keep the story exactly the same way,

wouldn’t be a problem seeing as the students would be volunteering and you would change the names of all involved…
