Why do I have an odor down there after sex?

im 22 & a few days after intercourse with my boyfriend, my vagina gives off a fishy/bad smell.. the smell aint that strong, but I can smell it. is this because of his sperm being released into me? also I tend to give off a lot of white substance a few days after sex.. this is what smells.. is this his sperm coming out of me? I use liners everyday to prevent my underwear from getting wet & it so uncomfortable.. please help!

I have this same problem. I am married and can’t use condoms. Do not use a douche or other product.. You can go to the bathroom right after intercourse and potty and wipe up the best you can. If you have odor anytime other than sex that isn’t normal smell or is oddly strong then see a doctor.

if hes coming in you- and you don’t like…force it out? i guess is the word it’ll leak out over the next day or two. and yeah thats what smells. if you’re cleaning yourself and you still smell maybe you shouldn’t let him come in you maybe let him come on you

doctors, theyre here for a reason, you dont need a therapist, you need a surgeon, go talk to someone professional.

My guess is that if you are allowing him to unload inside of you, then your are not cleaning it out good enough. It is not normal to still have bits coming out after a few days. I suggest you look into some feminine cleaning products such as summers eve to clean yourself out. Don’t perform this cleaning too often, your vaginal wall is very sensitive and can deteriorate with excessive cleansing with those products. If the problem persists after you’ve done that, then i suggest seeking a doctors opinion. I hope this helps.

simple fix, take a shower wash the outside, then just rinse the inside as best you can, dont use soap, really dont use soap in there, then take one pill of acidophilus crush it or not and just put it up there and then rinse off the area, trust me it will get rid of the smell, there is another way to get rid of the smell and that is rise off with Apple cider vinegar and then use the acidophilus, the acidophilus is key to keeping you odor free it restores the ph balance down there and keeps you with no smell.

Dear michy, You should be using a condom…this will not only give you extra protection it will help with your situation.

Do not…Do not use any type of duches…they upset the natural balance and cause more harm then good especially if you get an STD from not using a condom. Your doctor will verify this statement.

Yes, it is normal after a few days to have liquid leaving the body.

Male body fluid can stay in the body for several days. Do not use perfumes and scented pantie liners…this will end up causing more unpleasant odors…contrary to what they were meant to do. The key is not to get fussy about it all.

Make sure you urinate after sex, shower and dry thoroughly, wear unscented pantie liners and USE A CONDOM. All this will make a huge difference for you. Sue…good luck

Long story short, you’re probably developing a mild infection down there after you have sex. The fish type smell suggest that it is BACTERIAL not yeast. Yeast infections don’t smell, they just itch. Don’t treat it with over the counter yeast infection products, this will make it worse, but if it doesn’t clear up in a few days on it’s own then SEE YOUR GYNO! You’ll need antibiotics to clear it up.

By wearing panty liners everyday you may be making the situtaion worse. If they are not changed out very often to keep them dry then they acutally trap moisture in, and yes mens cum can continue to leak out over a few days, but it would just feel ‘wet’ not ‘a white substance’. Take the moisture plus small tears in your vagina from sex and you have good conditions for an infection. Lay off the panty liners, or at least change them very often, and if you do use them make sure they are uncented (the perfume may be irritanting the problem).

If that doesn’t work then insist on using KY to minimize ‘damage’ to the inside of your vagina, especially if you are ever sore after sex. If you’re on birth conrtol then it is notorious for screwing with a womans sex drive and other related factors. It is possible that you just can’t secrete a lot of extra lube on you’re own, which isn’t a problem, just use KY. If you’re not on birth control, well, KY can still be you’re friend. If you have a good boyfriend then he’ll understand.

Also keep in mind that your vagina is a ‘self cleaning organ’. Most women have a certain amount of discharge that is normal, but it should not resemble cottage cheese (that’s a sign of infection.) We have a lot of healthy bacteria and yeast that live in there in happy harmany. Douching or adding things to it can upsets this balance and can lead to more problems. The best thing you can do is keep it clean and relatively dry by wearing cotton underwear. This may mean an underwear change half-way through the day. Oh, and you may want to avoid frequent long baths, especially not with perfumes in the water. Showers are a little more vagina friendly.
