What do I do about this video?

There is a video I took at a concert, where some kids were sucking up dirty mud water from the floor to meet a usician &it’s been tweeted about from him on how he wasn’t to blame for. He also mentioned how he didn’t care about the contract he made with the company to sign at their tent during warped tour. Now warped tour and a car company are asking me to remove the video. One of them even told me that I could either choose to take it down or they will have youtube remove it, for privacy and copyright. I already told them that the video does not rebroadcast any original work (like music or a novel) that would take away from a creator’s profits . There was no reasonable expectation of privacy at that event. So I guess they realized that they weren’t going to be able to have youtube remove it for those reasons. I can’t give out too much info about this. but the video is currently on private no one but myself can watch it. I sort of feel bad because this artist wrote/or his manager wrote why he won’t be signing anymore autographs with the car company or at all at this event. The question is do I leave the video up and off private so everyone can see what they are responsible for or do I take it down and save alot of people alot of trouble?

Answer #1

Your post is a little difficult to understand, but from what I do understand, your video bordered on defamation of the artist’s character, and it’s likely that that is the reason they want it removed. You don’t want to mess around with things like this - there are laws that could protect the artist, and I guarantee (s)he has a team of lawyers at the ready…..take the video down.

Answer #2

It doesn’t have the artist anywhere in it, it’s mainly this car company that is asking me to take it down. The artist hasn’t said anything about it, He watched it and realized what they were doing behind his back and he thought it was inhumane, which is why he no longer cared about the contract he had with them.

Answer #3

….you are really confusing……so, let me get this straight…the artist had a contract with a car company…the car company set up this game to allow people to meet with the artist…the artist didn’t approve of the game and canceled the contract? It’s still defamation, but it’s the car company, not the artist…and, if they lose a contract over this, they could sue you for it.

Answer #4

Well wouldn’t they have done it already? I mean instead of throwing things at me and offers? But ok Thank you I’ll most likelyy be taking the video down:)

Answer #5

They usually try to deal with things in a quiet manner….if they took it to court, there would be the media, and this is not the type of publicity they want.

Answer #6

ew publicity >.< well ok than you for your help.
