Answer #1

you have to meet the requirements first, this includes sciences, math, and your general studies, your college advisor will help you with these classes. Cost really depends on if you are out of state or in state. School is four years long, and this is after you have completed the required classes. You need to have a competitive GPA this is most important in your chemistry, math, and biology related classes. I suggest over 12 hours a semester (14-17), they place a great importance on how well you can handle stress during college. Vet school is very hard and stressful, and you need to be able to show you can do well in many classes. I suggest working in a vet clinic, even if you only shadow and don’t get paid because, on your application they ask about experience, furthermore you will need letters of recommendation and this gives you a vet to ask. You will also need to place a really good impression on some of your college professors so that you will have one of them for a letter of recommendation later on, networking is so important, if you can work part-time for a professor, even better. Don’t forget about volunteer work and extracurricular activities, they look to see if you are a well rounded person, join your schools pre-vet club but do more than just joining you need to go out of your way to set yourself apart from others, this may mean you need to spend spring break helping raise money for a charity. Don’t limit yourself to just animal type of clubs and volunteer work, remember they want someone that is well rounded. You will have to take the GRE test as part of the application process, study early this test score is important. Furthermore, you will have to write an essay about why you want to be a vet, please start early (1 year or more), get help from a professional, and do many drafts. I suggest writing your essay now, and every two months pull it out and see if there is anything you should add or should change. If possible take a course or quick class about how to do good in an interview and set up mock interviews and do a lot of mock interviews I suggest over five the week before your interview, your college will have people that help with practicing interviews, ask your advisor about these resources, and the resources for helping you write your paper. Finally, apply to every school possible, you may be rejected by 10 and accepted by 1. Good Luck. P.S. get on some college websites and look at the programs and requirements; furthermore, no matter how great you are always have a back up plan.

well you actually need to be in colage for jhe main 4 years. then you also need to go and get your degree in vet science. so then if you want to work on something pacific then that is another year ( so 8~9 years)

Answer #3

After high school you must complete 2 to 4 years of pre-veterinary or science studies at university then another 4 year course of studys to graduate as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Usually you require all three sciences chem, bio, and physics in highschool and have a overall average of 80% so a 3.0 GPA to even be looked at for acceptance becuase it is a competivie course I don’t know to much about it but hope this helps
