I’ve been told the movie/comic is a sort of analogy of how the u.s is. Is that true?
No its not true. Anyway the movie was an analogy of britan under the extreme ruler. Before you throw it to a certain country and offend people watch it first.
Yes and no. The original comic book dealt with a dystopian Fascist Corporatist society that arose in the UK after a nuclear war destroyed most of the world.
Though set in the UK the screenplay for the film takes liberties with the story to make it more relevant to the rise of neoconservativism in post 9/11 America. The author of the comic book objected to these changes and refused to endorse the movie.
