Are you supposed to include your secondary sources in your thesis?

my thesis is about symbolisim in the great gatsby. in this essay im supose to include 2 secondary sources. this is my thesis: “The main themes that Fitzgerald portrays are Appearance versus Reality, the American Dream and Morality. The themes are developed and supported through specific textual symbols, such as the green light, the valley of ashes, and the spectacles of the doctor.” do i sumhow put my sources in this thesis? cuz apperently i wrote this wrong.

Im not sure what kind of thesis you mean. I have written a thesis for a postgraduate diploma and another one for the degree of Master of Science, and yes, you absolutely include your secondary sources. Everything must be referenced, both in text and in a reference list at the end. There are many different styles for doing this - I mostly use APA, though Harvard and MLA seem to be popular in humanities subjects. Though I think that unless a particular style was recommended, any of them is fine as long as you are consistent with it.
