I went to college for four years to obtain a degree in primary and elementary education. I've taught for ten years. Most recently, I taught in a school with a very unruly classroom of students. I did not get a very good evaluation. Now, I find it very difficult to obtain a teaching job anywhere. What alternate career would I qualify for with a comparative salary (@$45,000 annual salary)?
Have you thought about going into the post-secondary arena (admissions counseling/advising, etc.)? You can also get your masters in a number of fields (such as guidance counseling, clinical mental health counseling, etc.) With your 4 year degree you might try getting into the social/human services field or even criminal justice field (juvenile services) as well as adult education or administration. These are only a FEW ideas and I'm sure you can find something that really fits your interests. Best of luck! :) -S
You might consider changing states. Go to a state where they have a shortage of teachers and maybe they'll give you a chance. Also I'd consider teaching elementary, perhaps one through three where the students might be easier to handle.

You might also want to search online to do some tutoring. There are people who wants to learn English or to be taught on line about any subjects via video conferencing.
