Two weeks Pregnant and smoked weed

What could this do to the baby? Would it mess up anything? My friend did it and I’m really worried about her. I don’t want anything to go wrong, and have a friend with a messed up baby. She doesnt need anymore stress. It was reallly dumb to smoke, but please no mean comments. Just help me help my friend. Thanks, Iya

Answer #1

it shouldnt to anything except for the smoke itself I would just stay off it til the baby is born

congratz

some of these comments are ridiculous misleading information everywhere truth is below

lol dont listen to what people tell u, its all misleading information you need to do your own research and see for urself

These are some of the comments I have copied from a forum

-pharmaceuticals are known to kill more people than illegal drugs

-marijuana is the number 1 cash crop in the world it serves as a natural medicine and has many other uses thats why they prohibited it so big companies can make more profit thanks to “bad journalism”

-can also help aids patients, aids diminishes appetite have them smoke a joint and they regain their appetite counteracting the illness

-no one can die from smoking cannabis and has been no known deaths compared to everything else including alcohol, tobacco, etc..

I myself have asthma and smoking opens up my airways making it easier to breathe with no side effects when medically legalized in my state I look foward to becoming a patient for prescription marijuana. 12 states have already legalized it along with other countries in the world and more following my job is to educate people that are not aware of the plants uses

re-legalize!

-I did most of my research through websites, books, magazines, and the news norml.org high times magazine etc..

  • theres more to it than just getting high and I believe legalizing it would make this a better world to live in

-God bless the whole crop!

  • and for people that dont smoke, you dont need to smoke it to support it

-all the better reason for the government to legalize.. couple reasons why it should be legalized: -will be removed from black market and stop empowering gang members -medical reasons -would be sold like alcohol, remember alcohol was once prohibited too (in stores away from children, have to be 21+) -would be a law that you cant drive while intoxicated on weed -prison population would lower (prisons are overcrowding with nonviolent offenders) -keep patients from being convicted -would provide millions of jobs for people -would make us an independent country (fuel, etc.., debt free america)

people with an addiction (including hard drugs) shouldnt be thrown in jail, they need help theres more people in jail with mental illnesses than there are in mental institutions

the list goes on

  • the War on Drugs is a failure, its a war on its own people. policies need to be changed we pay billions in taxpayers money to keep the war going and neither side is winning thats just a waste of our tax money I wonder what they do with all that money.. those greedy bastards just sell drugs back onto the street, you can even check urself on that there was a time when there was a cia operation transporting drugs overseas into america the government also provided Rick Ross with plenty of heroin to go around, course making money from it

the truth must be exposed, theyre dirty work must stop!

-Of course we can do something about it, we all just need to unite screw the federal government remember slavery? if no one stood up im pretty sure it would still be going on people were tortured, beaten, killed and thrown in jail but that didnt stop them standing up for their rights eventually slavery was abolished same with alcohol prohibition eventually became re-legalized

  • its like theres some kind of conspiracy going on I sense the government is up to no good and trying to control us. credit cards, money, and now they have chips that can be implanted in skin for uselful reasons but if in the wrong hands well were pretty much fuct they hiding the truth from us its dangerous to be right when the government is wrong they got theyre privacy but we dont. they want to know everything were doing on our leisure time

get up stand up!

  • marijuanas not anti-establishment because its illegal, its illegal because its anti-establishment

all facts stated have been double-checked and confirmed want to learn more? norml.org americandrugwar.org hightimes.com lets all make this a better place to live in!

Research studies have shown that women who use recreational drugs during pregnancy tend to use marijuana, thinking that it won’t harm the fetus as much as other illegal substances. Although no clear-cut deformity or syndrome is known to occur due to marijuana use during pregnancy (as there is from alcohol use, for example, with fetal alcohol syndrome), there are possible dangers.

First of all, smoking anything during pregnancy deprives the fetus of oxygen. Just as smoking tobacco is discouraged in pregnant women, so is smoking marijuana. Smoking any type of substance interferes with the fetus’s blood supply. This can mean the fetus doesn’t get enough oxygen, and s/he may be born smaller in both weight and length. Smaller babies have a higher risk of other problems after birth, such as infections, severe jaundice, difficulty feeding, breathing problems, low blood sugar, difficulty regulating temperature, bleeding into the brain, and problems with vision.

Secondly, marijuana is frequently and unpredictably “cut” with other substances. So the fetus may be unintentionally exposed to other potentially harmful substances in addition to marijuana.

Marijuana can also be transmitted through breast milk. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC (the main active ingredient in marijuana), can be as much as 8 times higher in breast milk than in the mother’s bloodstream. Babies whose mothers have used marijuana during pregnancy or while breastfeeding sometimes seem jittery and difficult to comfort. They may have some delay in the development of their motor skills, although studies have concluded that this delay may not be permanent. In any case, it is advisable not to smoke marijuana while breastfeeding.

Since we’re on the subject of substance use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, if you already drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes, it’s in your baby’s (and your) best health interests to stop when you are pregnant. During the nursing period, it’s commonly recommended that mothers drink only modest amounts of alcohol, delay breastfeeding for 2 - 3 hours after drinking alcohol, and avoid exposing the baby to second-hand smoke.

It should be noted that much of the research on the effects of prenatal exposure to marijuana has been complicated and inconclusive. This is mainly because it is difficult to isolate the effects of marijuana from other possible factors such as alcohol, other drug use, socioeconomic status, family structure, and mother’s personality. All in all, the healthiest choice for you and your baby is to avoid using recreational chemicals, including marijuana, while pregnant. As difficult as it may be to change one’s lifestyle, taking a break from smoking cigarettes and joints, and drinking alcohol and using other drugs, can help set your baby up for a long, healthy life.

well im 6 months pregnannt and have read many articles, books, and asked doctors on smoking while pregnant. there are no knowm facts that doctors have made about major side effects, there all just symptoms that last a little while and at that, none are deadly to your fetus.chances are that if your a smoker your kids gunna end up smoking it as a teen too! its just the thought of weed being illegal that makes smoking look bad especially while pg. the worst thing that can happen is cps taking your child, ill admitt no one should smoke while pg, even though I do. and the second worst effect would probably be that your child will be a little jittery for a few months after birth which will suck mostly for you, but still thats not pemanent. now unless you have some like seriouse med. condition and your pregnancy is under strict dr. supervision you shouldnt smoke weed but there are no know deaths or permanet side effects, but still smoke at your own risk.

Answer #5

you cant do that or you will kill thebaby or it will have tons of problems growing up. I was like that except I was two months pregnant and was drinking at friends and smoking it hurt baby a lot the baby is still in hospital and wont be home for another six or seven months

Answer #6

Brain damage, addiction to weed, perhaps pyhisical retardation, lots of things.

Answer #7

it only takes one time to ruin a child’s life…

Answer #8

I don’t mean to be rude or anything…but don’t worry about HER…worry about her BABY. women have to be more responsible with their bodies…if there’s ANY chance of pregnancy…smoking, drinking, and DRUGS should be cut out. if there’s even a POSSIBILITY of being pregnant.

all I can say to you is get it through your friend’s head how immature and destructive her actions have been. make sure she’s not smoking weed anymore. if she does…seriously, call cps and get that baby out of her possession.
