Answer #1

Bananas* wow i need to learn how to spell that word..

Answer #2

haha just sing Gwen Stefani’s song in your head. You will spell it right every time.

Answer #3

It CAN help, because it is all psychological. Basically our brains have been programed to like processed foods. By smelling apples and banana’s you put your mind back into the mindset it needs to be in to crave healthy foods again. Our brains register junk food and our need for it much quicker (think of it like a drug, because they are pretty much a drug). So by slowing down and smelling the fruit and looking at it, you put your attention to the healthy food and so you will choose a better option, which leads to weight loss.

I wouldn’t doubt it, but I don’t think it is effective enough. Everything you do ─sleeping, breathing, smelling, eating, etc.─ is actually exercise, in a way, because all of that makes you loose calories, even in the incredibly small amounts. It still doesn’t mean a person should stop exercising because of this. If you are eating and getting probably 500 calories from a meal, you might lose between 1-8 calories as you move your muscles and such. So yes, in a way you can loose weight, but typing that question was probably more efficient than sniffing 50 bananas. Now I don’t know if there is actually something in them, that makes this more interesting, but even so, I wouldn’t see a point in doing it. I have never heard of a person ever loosing more than 2 pounds, just from sniffing bananas and green apples.

Answer #5

it doesn’t work calorie-wise it works mentally to help you lose weight. Kind of like how keeping a food journal helps you lose weight, it isn’t the calories burned writing that makes it work, it is mentally keeping track of what you eat that works. Same thing with sniffing healthy food.

Answer #6

Makes sense, and I completely agree. And that could be, and probably is, the best answer for this question. But my point still stands. :)

Answer #7

@Gaia3 - I always do that. o.o

Answer #8

Through some studies a bunch of individuals stopped craving higher calorie “junk” food due to the rich aroma that fruits give. That’s about it. It makes sense that a person would lose weight this way since they are put off by junk food.

No junk food = less calories = weight loss

Answer #9

wait didnt u spell it right the first and second time

Answer #10

I think she edited it…I swear last night it said “banananas”
