it pretty much means scary/dangerouse like if it was is surfing “that wave was gnarly” it was scary, too big, dangerouse, ect and in skating, “that trick was gnarly”…it looked scary and dangerouse

it’s a slang word that kind of means both. It can mean Remarkable; outstanding or Unpleasant; disgusting

so no they’re not calling you kool, theyre calling you disgusting more than likley(not trying to be be rude).

I think it means like ‘dude thats so cool’ or ‘dude that so sickk!!’ and well they use gnarly in place of ‘cool’ or ‘sick’ as in wicked/crazy.

Thanx and it because these girls I used to be friend with are calling me “Shanarly” and I am trying to tell people that it means “cool” and everybody is like I hope they know that they hate you yet they are calling cool! THEY ARE STUPID!!!
