Truck running hot

My husband’s truck is running hot. He has replaced the t-stat, changed the oil, checked the radiator, put new head gaskets on, made sure it was full of water and antifreeze, and it still runs hot. It only runs hot when he is driving down the road. He can let it idle in the yard and it does fine but once he takes off down the road it starts to run hot. What could it be?

Answer #1

Sounds like maybe the fan by the radiator isn’t working properly. That or possibly the water pump isn’t working properly.

Depends of many different factors. How old is it?
