Why am I having trouble losing weight?

I have been excersizing 6 days a week since September (my only break was for Christmas), doing cardio with my heart rate in the 160s and also weight training, 1 hr a day, and I have been at 180 lbs the whole time, unchanging

im having this problem too :(:(:(

Answer #2

it is probably your diet. exercising is only one part in losing weight. having a good healthy diet is the main key in losing weight. also you said about weight training, make sure it is light weights. heavier weights will not make you lose weight but maintain the current weight. using lighter weights increases reps and the more reps you can do, the more calories and the more the muscles work.

Answer #3

I think you need to focus on two things:

  1. where exactly you need to lose the weight, and
  2. what muscle mass is building up through weight training. If most of your weight is in one particular area (hips, for example), then that is the area you need to target for toning exercises. Also, remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are converting your fat into muscle, you may actually be losing weight, but the scale doesn’t show it. It’s better to use measurements, or how your clothes fit to determine whether or not your routine is actually working.
Answer #4

Also! make sure you are mixing up your work out routines, doing the same workouts every day will create muscle memory and when your muscles get used to doing the same thing, nothing is going to be gain from the exercise.

Answer #5

Momma.. Today my pants that fit me in September could not fit me so I felt like all my work was for nothing ]: Is that because of muscle mass? Also, what if I want to lose the weight everywhere? I’ve been targetting thighs, arms and belly, is it okay to target more than one area?

Answer #6

i dont think its trouble it just takes time. my mum wants to aswel and i just kep telling her that it takes time :)

Answer #7

Thats very helpful, especially the muscle memory thing, thanks

Answer #8

Yes, it’s advisable that you do, but target one area a day - not every area all in one day. Also, if you stop feeling the burn, then it means you have plateau’d, so you need to either increase weights, reps, or implement a new exercise.

Answer #9

okay thanks :]

Answer #10
