Tongue ring bump PLEASE HELP

Okay, I got my tongue pierced on the 28th, and its the 31st. I was using listerine for the first few days until last night I looked at the bottle and it said it had alcohol in it, so I freaked out and went and bought some biotene from walmart, because I know people who have used that for their tongue piercings and it worked wonders. but since yesterday I’ve had this bump in front of the top ball, its more like a canker sore, im pretty sure its not infected because the bottom hole doesnt hurt, and the top only hurts by the bump, theres no puss or anything. Im just freaking out about wether this is normal or not, I’ve seen a lot of people on google saying they’ve had the same thing but I never see the end results. PLEASE HELP!

Answer #1

Just brush your tongue when you’re brushing your teeth in the morning and at night, its like a canker sore kind of. dont pick at it, that might just make it worse. but if you keep cleaning it you should be fine. Have you been playing with it a lot lately? Dont clean it too much because that’ll probably make it worse too. try salt water rinses. =] hope I helped.

what did you do to get it to go away?? I have one right now.. im thinking about taking it out because I had the tounge ring for a few months and the past week theres a bump before my tounge ring and its getting bigger.. it doesent hurt at all though :S my dad said its probably infected..

Hey guys thanks for the help, the bump is gone. it was just a scab from the top ball rubbing against my tongue when I was sleeping. Also for everyone to know.. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE LISTERINE UNLESS YOU DONT BRUSH YOUR TEETH OR KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THAT MUCH ALCOHOL IT WILL DRY OUT YOUR TONGUE… UNLESS YOUR MOUTH IS DIRTY! It is now Sept 5th, and my tongue is almost fully healed, I must say though the biotene definately helped a lot! Happy piercings guys, and thanks for the help. =]

Answer #4

well I had my tongue redone twice. you are supposed to use listerine with the alcohol because it helps keep it clean and from getting infected.

I’ve never had a bump on my tongue but if I was you id try popping it like a pimple and if that doesnt work then take it out wait for it to heal and get it redone and make sure you dont use that stuff again.

Answer #5

oh my god do NOT listen to them. keep up with the non alcohol mouthwash, it’s better. DEFINATLEY don’t try to pop it! it’s most likely just an irritated taste bud or keyloid scar. mine has the same thing. as long as you mouthwash and it’s not really painful or a funny color (yellow, green, etc.) you’ll be okay. once you get a shorter bar it’ll go away.
