Titanic rose and jack

I know the story of the titanic is true , but is the story of rose and jack true ?

Answer #1

No - Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt Bukater were not real people. Though, there was an engineer on the real Titanic named James Dawson. He died in the disaster, and his gravestone says ‘J Dawson, died 15th April 1912’. Lots of people think that its actually Jack from the film! But James Cameron had thought of the character Jack before he saw James Dawson’s graveston! Creepy or what?! Titanic is my FAVOURITE film btw lol.

Answer #6

NO. Jack and Rose were not real people. Director James Cameron (he wrote the script too) made them up for the movie. He wanted a love story because he thought that woould engage the audience more. The old woman in the movie is just portraying 100-year-old Rose. She is just an actress. She is not a Titanic survivor. Her name is Gloria Stuart and she is still alive. She was 87 when the movie was made and now she was 100 (don’t confuse that with 100-year-old Rose whom she played in the movie). What also confuses people is that there is a J. Dawson buried in the cemetery in Newfoundland were the bodies from the Titanic were laid to rest. He was a Titanic passanger from Dublin, Ireland; his first name was Joseph (not Jack). James Cameron did not know about him when he created the character of Jack Dawson. It is a conincidence. There are no Titanic survivors left. Elizabeth Gladys “Millvina” Dean, the last survivior, died in May 2009 at age 97. She was nine weeks old when she was on the Titanic (which makes her the youngest passenger) so she had no memory of it. She only knew what her mother (who was also a survivior) told her. Her brother, who was a toddler, also survived but her father did not. I hope this helps.

Answer #7
