Does anyone have any tips for getting - and keeping - clear skin?

Prom is coming up in the summer, and I wanna give myself plenty of time to makes sure my skin is clear then. I know a healthy diet and drinking lots of water can help, but does anyone else have some tips? I’ve got typical combination skin, that gets oily when I moisturise it, but gets dry really quickly if I don’t. At the moment I use a light moisturiser everyday after I wash my face with Soap and Glory’s ‘Face Soap and Clarity’. That usually keeps my skin free of spots. But, I’d really like my skin to be extra clear and extra nice for prom. I’m up for anything, and I’ve given myself plenty of time to try several things out. What are your tips? What do you use? And what would you recommend? Thank you guys! :)

Use scrubs, that seems to work well for my skin. Along with that peels help get rid of dead skin and black heads and it always makes my skin look nice and clear afterwards, I found a pretty cheap one that works well for me from Freeman. Do you do the cleanse-tone-moisturize regime? Perhaps you should look into a good toner for your skin, of course you’d have to look for one that suits yourself. Do a nice mask once a week or once every two weeks whatever seems to work best for your skin. For me, I use my scrub in the shower since all the steam opens my pores makes it easier to cleanse. I use a peel once a week and a mask every two weeks. I use a cleanser, toner and moisturizer from Lush, pretty much every day, once in the morning and at night, although a lot of the times I just cleanse in the morning. I haven’t really gotten many pimples at all in years now after following this regime, although I still have bumps from acne years ago leftover. You really got to experiment with different products and find one that works for you.

Whenever I want my skin to look extra nice, I use the Acne Stress Control line by Neutrogena. They have amazing stuff and it’s a pretty good value… Also, don’t use face wash pads when you wash your face. Though they are scrubbies and exfoliate well, it also spreads bacteria, leading to more breakouts. Foaming facial cleansers are AMAZING for combination to oily skin, that’s what I use along with a toner and a moisturizer that has acne preventative ingredients in it by Clean and Clear. Good luck :)

I love the shop ‘Lush’ and always pop into have a smell at their bath bombs and face masks. I’ll make sure I have a look at their cleansers and stuff next time, though. I’d never really had that much of good look at all their products before. Thank you! And thanks for the link. I do use a cleanse-tone-moisturise routine at the moment but it’s really difficult finding the right balance. I’ll take a little peep at the website, and see what they’ve got and I’ll give it a go. Thank you :)

Hmm…. I shall have to give them a go. And that’s a good tip about washing your face with with wash pads. Thanks! Looks like I’m going to be buying a load of new facial products and giving them all a two week trial. Ah ha. Oh well, I’ve got plenty of time before prom to finally get my skin clear, once and for all. I’ve used ‘Clean and Clear’ products before and got on alright with them. I’ll look at changing to one of their foaming cleansers. Thank you very much.

I use birth control to clear my acne, it’s one of it’s positive side effects.

Here’s a site to better to explain how it works. You can ask your doctor for a prescription. http://funadvice.com/r/15s8ljpt5ck
