Tips for getting into Pharmacy School?

I am very nervous about going to college. I am a senior in highschool with a 3.5GPA and a 24ACT. I am naturally smart, but my study habits are where I stumble. I was wondering if anyone could give me tips for studying and/or ways to help my chances for getting into Pharmacy school.

Answer #1

just don’t worry too much about pharmacy school. Applicant statistics shouldn’t deter you from pursuing your dreams. Many applicants do apply to multiple schools. For instance, one person applies to instate and out of states should which escalades the number of applicnats applying. If you can maintain a minimum GPA of 3.45, I bet you will surely find you a pharmacy school somewhere. Just don’t forget about other requirements, such as volunteering or pharmacy experience. Either one of the above mentioned requirements can propelled you pass some of the competitive applicants with good GPA but lack othe aspects of the application process. Concerning studying, try to limit theiths number of friends you will be entangling with. Seek friends who share the same goals with you if not that then friends who are academically mature. And also try to help others in class if you can. Where you find fit to help others just do it. There is a huge reward for that. Helping others can open the door of opportunity for you. Be fearless and stay focused.

No not the whole us. Just for that one college. Wayne State in Michigan is among the best of medical schools in the country and their pharmacy program is top notch competitive I hear.

Answer #3

Oh I know that I am going to Wayne State university in Michigan for Pre-Pharm. The thing that worries me is actually getting in to pharmacy school. I heard last year that over 1000 people applied and only 85 got in.

Answer #4

85 got in? in the whole of the US? I dont think that’s true… I have two friends who got into pharmacy school in the last couple of years… Also you dont need a bachelor’s, you actually just need an associates (as long as you have the classes they need)… Dont worry about it too much, it is competitive, but it’s not impossible to get in… Just make sure you keep up with work the minute you get in, and make sure you’re taking all the requirements…

Answer #5

One suggestion is that you become a pharmacy technician 1st, a pharmacy technician does a lot of the same things that a pharmacist does…your kinda like an assistant, you can actually become a pharmacy tech really fast one really good school for that is everest institutes, it usually is 7 months of classes and the 8th month an externship and you graduate, then when you want to transition in to being pharmacist, you will already have the basic knowledge, a job in the field of study, and credits towards your degree… you will be ahead of the game and probably graduate before most of the students as well.

Answer #6

You do not go directly to pharmaceutical school. You have to obtain an undergraduate degree first. You can get it in Pre-Pharamacy or a science related to the field of pharmaceuticals such as chemistry. Sometimes, colleges have tutoring services. Find out if your intended college or university has one. When you begin to have problems, seek out help. The tutors have experience in their respective subject, so they will be able to teach you how to study. If you do that, you should be successful in college and able to get into pharamacy school.
