Who truly thinks that their mind is mature?

and if so explain. (this is directed more at 17-20 year olds.(

Answer #1

I believe most kids that age believe they are mature - yet ask them again years down the road and most will agree they were wrong. Im currently 25 and although i still have some maturing to do in some ways. getting married, raising two children, and dealing with all of lifes struggles has made me mature and grow as a person. When i was 17-21 i thought i was grown and mature…i can laugh thinking about how wrong i was and remembering all of my childish irresponsible behavior.

Answer #2

I think pretty much everyone after a certain age is mature but not completely mature. No matter how old you are you always have learning and growing to do.

Answer #3

I’m 22 and biology yes I think so, however in terms of what I can learn I don’t think it’ll ever be mature and so goes for how my views change as I grow older.

Answer #4

Honestly, I’m only 15 years old, but yes I believe I am mature. In my life, I’ve had to deal with a large variety of responsibilities. At the age of 10 I began taking care of my 6 month old brother and sister and raised them until they were 4. This as well as the environment I grew up in changed my life, causing me to grow up very quickly. I do, however, understand I still have a lot to learn and am not fully matured yet, but for my age I do believe I am quiet mature.

Answer #5

im 17. im the opposite of mature.

Answer #6

maturity is gained, its never earned. in reality, were all immature in different ways..the way we react to people or certain situations. but were mature when we begin to realize our faults & progress to become better than yesterdays:)

Answer #7

Scientifically speaking you do not have a mature brain until you are 21 if you are female and 23 if you are male. Before this, you are more prone to impulsive decisions and are less able to think like an adult. Its just a biological fact. Im not saying that everyone under this age is necessarily childish, just that their brains are still developing. I also agree that there is no age where you have finished learning and growing.

Answer #8

To everyone’s answers they are appreciated. Looking at your answers i have come to a conclusion that to be Mature you have to look at yourself as Immature, By that i mean if you look at your mind as not developed properly you will never cease to increase your Wisdom, Knowledge, Maturity, Etc.. And i also believe that just because a body Matures, the brain doesn’t. It’s up to the person and the choices they make for what they will learn and incorporate into their everyday living. I also know that helping raise kids doesn’t make you mature (i say that because my big sister thinks she is the most mature person in the world for saying that she helped raise the kids which really its no -__-“) Also environment helps you mature especially if its a bad one say like a Child Protection agency for when they foster you out into other violent families. And choices you make and they friends you have help you mature.

Thanks for helping me gain a better perspective on this issue but i feel it can be improved so more answers would be muchly appreciated =D
