Who thinks Google's new "Calls from Gmail" service will profoundly improve their users statistics?

The service has started rolling out - if you don’t have a Gmail account, do you plan to get one now? If you already have one, do you think you’ll use the service? What do you think this will mean for other similar services like Skype?

Answer #1

i have gmail but i dont have skype. I’ll think i’ll be checking out this google talk thing as it might be worth a try.

Yeah, now i’m missing my friends/relatives in the US/Canada :D

Answer #2

I don’t think so necessarily. I have a gmail account. Just because yahoo is too slow and I keep getting stupid spam from it. I don’t think I’ll be using gmail’s call services when I can just use skype.

Answer #3

Doubt it. Nearly everyone has cell phones now and plans are cheap enough that most people no longer have to watch every minute. You might be able to save some money with international calls but I don’t think it will be that big a deal.

Answer #4

anything free and worthwhile will improve a company. i have a gmail account but wont use their free call thingy.
