The toils of being confused
I’m in contact with this guy, and I want to talk to him on msn but I don’t know what to say! I don’t want to ruin anything, because he’s a really fab guy and very popular. I’m afraid I’ll say something and he won’t like me. Any advice? xx
The best-slash-only rule you’ll ever need to know in life as far as making conversation goes is: people love talking about themselves. It works pretty much across the board. Ask a few pointed questions about their life, and the ball should be rolling nicely.
Avoid questions that can have one-word or yes/know answers, too, because that gives you NO material to build off of. So go with “What do you think about…” instead of “What’s your favorite…” or “Do you like…”
