The tempest

What is act 3 scene 2

Answer #1

In this scene stephano, trinculo and caliban get drunk together with some rum that was saved from the shipwreck. This is the first time that caliban has ever had alcohol. Caliban tells stephano about how much he hates Prospero and wants him dead. Then he persuades stephano to kill Prospero by offering him to be king of the island, to get Miranda and to be served. Caliban shows how much he hates Prospero by using very violent language. They plan to kill Prospero when he sleeps. Ariel hears this and plans to tell Prospero their plan, he whispers “thou liest” in caliban and stephanos ears and causes trouble. Trinculo gets the blame for this and is beaten up.
