You’ll probably find your mother is worried that, while you’re not sexually active now, if you go on the pill, she thinks you will be. I’m not sure about laws where you are, but I believe that, at 16, your sexual health is your choice, and your responsibility.

Some pros about the contraceptive pill are: ~ It regulates periods (makes them shorter, you can pinpoint which day you’ll get it too!) ~ The hormone often helps to clear up acne, and can reduce scarring from previous acne ~ It is not harmful to take it for long periods of time, and will not affect fertility later in life ~ Studies being done are showing that if you take the pill for several years or more, chances of developing breast cancer are reduced

Cons: ~Depending on your body and which pill you take, you may experience slight weight gain ~ Initially, it can make your skin breakout (after about a month, it calms down a lot!) ~ Some patients can develop blood clots. This is not common, and you doctor will test your blood pressure and clotting before prescribing it, and will test your blood pressure each time you need a refill.

All in all, the decision is really yours to make. Just make sure you do your research, know exactly what you’re dealing with, and make an informed decision.

You don’t have to have your mom!!!Go to your local heath department and tell them what you want they will give it to you for free…

Answer #3

Ask a doctor for their opinion on the subject, and then maybe she’ll get the hint. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to wait until you’re 18.

Answer #4

Get your doctor to convince your mother, she’ll be a lot more likely to accept it when she hears it from a medical professional, then from you or a family member.

If that doesn’t work, just tell your mother that you are going on the pill. You can get for free at some clinics and if you are living in America at planned parenthood.

It’s your body and the pill is great for regulating your period, it should be your choice.
