Fully sad, no. The woman had some serious mental health issues. It’s sad that she wasn’t able to get the help she so deseperately needed.

She spent a few years in a mental institution, so it’s silly to say she “wasn’t able to get the help she so desperately needed.” In fact, she received exactly the care she desperately needed and was able to rejoin society as a productive citizen.

I agree, it is a shame that she stopped when she did, considering the volume of iconographic images she produced in such a short time. Lord knows what she could have accomplished had she kept at it, but at least she did what made her happy.
