The fur trade, opinions?

I personally feel the fur trade is vile. Everyone I know is against it so really I was just wondering, if there was anyone out there that actually agreed with it? Don’t get me wrong I’m not looking for a flame war. I’ve already had one of those tonight :) I’m just intrigued as to the other side of the arguement.

I am a hunter, I agree with a “responsible” fur trade. fur is the same as the leather trade in that a part of an animal is used for clothing or to create other objects. I utilize as much of an animal as I can. and if I choose to wear something made of leather or have a fur fringe around my jacket hood- that is my right- and I dare anyone to splash red paint on me- or call me a murderer. oftentimes the anti- fur establishment overlooks the damage that they themselves cause with their beliefs- and overlooks the facts that they also kill living things in the pursuit of their daily lives ( I.e. “pests” mice, rats, insects). so I believe that a responsible fur trade is perfectly fine- as long as endangered species remain protected. mankind has always been dressed in animal hides and skins- in one form or another- some plant fibers were also woven to make clothing, but leather and fur have always been more practical- that is my belief.

there are many other synthetic WARM materials for the eskimos and its not helping the environment. nothing men do are helping the environment. and the majority of people who wear animals hide are these conceited rich people who live in these places where its REALLY hot and just wear it because its expensive and they want to show off how much money they have.

the fur trade is disgustingly wrong. and have you seen how these big companies skin them??? its disgusting!

The “Fur trade” Is good and bad. While it brings on the killing of extra animals out of hunting season which is not needed. ( Might I add the enviroment actually benefits from a hunting season as it opens up more food for winter for the animals and the amount killed are monitored ) It also helps people survive. Such as eskimos who wear all animal skin clothing mostly and furs to stay warm and keep alive…
